NSE 4 Immersion Course Overview:

This course will involve hands-on do-it-yourself (DIY) configuration assignments within a virtual lab environment. These tasks will encompass various subjects found in the NSE 4 certification exam. They will focus on the application of prevalent FortiGate features, including firewall policies, the Fortinet Security Fabric, user authentication, SSL and IPsec VPNs, equal-cost multi-path (ECMP) routing, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), high availability (HA), and content inspection.

It’s important to note that this course is not intended to replace the FortiGate Security and FortiGate Infrastructure courses.

Intended Audience:

• Networking and security professionals involved in the management, configuration, administration, and monitoring of FortiGate devices used to secure their organizations’ networks should attend this course.
• The NSE 4 Immersion course is intended for students who have some experience operating FortiGate devices and want to refresh their skills. This course is ideal for students who have already taken the NSE 4 FortiGate Security and FortiGate Infrastructure courses, or have equivalent working experience, and want to get more hands-on lab practice before taking the NSE 4 certification exam.

• Utilize both the GUI and CLI for network administration.
• Exercise control over access to network resources through firewall policies.
• Authenticate users via firewall policies.
• Inspect SSL/TLS-encrypted traffic to prevent encryption-based circumvention of security policies.
• Implement web filtering and application control techniques to monitor and regulate network applications, whether they employ standard or non-standard protocols and ports.
• Safeguard your network against recognized attacks using IPS signatures.
• Mitigate and block Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
• Configure SSL VPN and IPsec VPN for remote access.
• Route packets effectively using Equal-Cost Multi-Path (ECMP) routing.
• Deploy FortiGate devices as a High Availability (HA) cluster to ensure fault tolerance and high performance.
• Set up the Fortinet Security Fabric to enhance your network’s security posture.
